    Personally,I would do anything to get out of Brest - IMHO, it is only of interest if you have a penchant for french Naval History. La Corunna I felt was a lovely place and would be very easy to diy, although we did a local guided tour on foot and by coach (from P&O). It ended with refreshments at a bar/restaurant with lovely views over the bay. Santiago de Compostela is however absolutely beautiful. We have not been to Bilbao so cannot comment on that but I must say that El Cortes Ingles has somewhat lost its attraction for me due to the exchange rate and rampant inflation in Spain :-(
    Whatever you do, I am sure you will enjoy it.
