Tipping

This is a very disputed subject. In the UK we mostly tend to prefer to tip individually, but most American cruiselines automatically add tips per night to your onboard account. Cruisers from the USA cannot understand why the Brits dislike autotipping. They generally regard cruise tips as part of an employees income. Of course some cruiselines and esp. the luxury ones include gatruities in the initial cost. I tend to think that it's best to tip according to local expectations, but alot would disagree. What do you think?

Pre-cruise
All arrangements went smoothly, information/tickets etc arrived in good time, car parking was arranged

First Day
Arrival and check in was a joy. Despite it being BH Saturday, traffic wasn't heavy (we took quiet roads through the New Forest, rather than the main holiday routes) and our drive was smooth. We were 'stacked' for about 10 minutes at the very end at Southampton, but as we were in sight of the ship and were very early, weren't concerned.

A farmer returns from the market, where he bought a goat, a cabbage and a wolf (what a crazy market :-). On the way home he must cross a river. His boat is small and won�t fit more than one of his purchases. He cannot leave the goat alone with the cabbage (because the goat would eat it), nor he can leave the goat alone with the wolf (because the goat would be eaten).

Costa Cruises' decision to base one of their ships in the UK for the first time, less than three months after the Italian company closed down the London office?

It's not long since rival company NCL - despite figures showing substantial growth in the numbers of people sailing no-fly cruises from UK ports - decided to withdraw from Dover and base its Baltic cruises from the port of Copenhagen instead.

They argued that their passengers preferred to save the time spent crossing the North Sea, although the truth is that the company's decision was partly to save fuel and partly to meet the demand for nine-night cruises instead of longer itineraries.
