• HAL sailing from the UK in 2011

Holland America Line will position three cruise ships in the UK during the 2011 sailing season. The cruise line placed their first ship in Dover two years ago and experienced a high level of demand.
To accommodate additional passengers, HAL intends to place Eurodam, Ryndam, and Prinsendam in the region.

Beginning in May of 2011, HAL will relocate the Eurodam to Dover where it will remain until the end of August. Passengers will be able to participate in cruises to both the Norwegian Fjords and the Baltic. Both itineraries are expected to last for 12 nights.

Also located in Dover will be HAL’s Ryndam. The cruise ship will sail passengers to the Mediterranean region on a 20-night cruise. Stops along the way include ports in Italy, France, and Spain. Ryndam will also sail to the Baltic on 7-night itineraries.

HAL will relocate the smaller cruise ship, Prinsendam, in Tilbury in July. The cruise ship will sail round-Britain cruises that are expected to last for 14 nights.

Lynn Narraway, the managing director of Holland America Line in the UK, said “This increase for 2011 shows HAL’s commitment to the UK market. The three cruises on Eurodam this year are more than 70% sold, with about 25% of passengers from the UK. It’s less than the 50% we were hoping for but there has been strong demand from the US.”

HAL will also relocate the Eurodam to Dover for the summer 2010 sailing season.
